$325 for the recliner. 88 cents for the morning.

One NAD+ drip costs more than a year of capsules. Here is the honest comparison β€” including the part where the IV genuinely wins.

An empty clinic recliner beside an IV pole in a wellness clinic infusion room.

The NAD+ IV market has a price it does not advertise loudly, so here it is in plain numbers.

A 250Β mg NAD+ infusion in the United States runs $250 to $429 a session. A 500Β mg infusion runs $399 to $698. Telehealth injections, the newer and cheaper route, sit around $190 a month.

Forty-five minutes in the chair. A slow drip, because pushing it faster is uncomfortable. Then a drive home.

Nobody in those clinics is lying. NAD+ delivered intravenously does put more into circulation than a capsule does. That is not in dispute and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.

What is worth doing is the arithmetic.

The arithmetic

What NAD+ support costs, per day US market pricing, verified July 2026. Drip pricing shown per session.

A $325 drip every three weeks works out to $15.48 a day. One 500Β mg infusion, at the low end of its range, costs more than 365 days of Celluvate on the 6-pack.

That is the whole comparison and it does not need decorating.

Now the part where the drip wins

Intravenous delivery bypasses the gut. More of what goes in the bag reaches the blood than from a capsule swallowed with coffee. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling capsules badly.

The people who have actually done both tend to reach the same conclusion, and they reach it with a calculator. The argument runs like this: $600 of drips buys roughly five months of daily capsules. More NR reaches the blood by IV β€” but not by enough to cover the gap in cost over a year.

That is a trade between amplitude and consistency.

A drip is a spike. A big one, every three or four weeks, with a long flat stretch in between. A capsule is small and it is every single morning β€” 30 mornings a month, 180 across a 6-pack, no appointment, no chair, no forty-five minutes.

For an input that works by accumulation rather than by event, showing up daily is the harder thing to buy and the more useful thing to own.

Celluvate bottle, two capsules, keys and an espresso cup on a kitchen counter in early morning light.

Our own reviews say it before we do. This is a four-star review, left by a customer named Reid, and we have not edited it:

β€œYou must be consistent with taking this and you must be patient.” β€” Reid, verified buyer

That is the deal. It is not a better pitch than the drip's. It is a truer one.

Compare the labels, not the marketing

Celluvate is a two-capsule serving carrying 700Β mg of actives: 500Β mg nicotinamide riboside chloride, 150Β mg trans-resveratrol from Japanese knotweed, 50Β mg quercetin from Sophora japonica. Plus 10Β mg of fenugreek galactomannans, which are a plant-fibre carrier, not an active, and which we count as zero.

Here is that panel against the two best-known formulas in the category. Every figure is off the printed label.

Two things to read carefully. Thorne's 415Β mg is listed as the hydrogen malate salt β€” salt forms and chloride forms are not like-for-like, so compare the panels yourself rather than the headline number. And Life Extension's resveratrol and quercetin sit inside proprietary blends: the actual trans-resveratrol content is 10Β mg and the quercetin is 5Β mg.

Two supplement bottles side by side for comparison.

What the research supports, and what it doesn't

The strongest piece of human evidence under nicotinamide riboside is Conze, Crespo-Barreda & Kruger, published in Scientific Reports in 2019: 140 adults, randomised, double-blind, eight weeks. Whole-blood NAD+ rose 22%, 51% and 142% at 100, 300 and 1,000Β mg per day. The 100Β mg arm faded back toward baseline by week eight. The 300Β mg arm and above held.

Four honest limits on that, stated plainly:

  • No trial has measured chronic blood NAD+ at exactly 500Β mg. We will not quote a percentage for our own dose. Interpolating between two data points is arithmetic, not evidence.
  • The measurement is NAD+ in the blood. When Elhassan's 2019 study looked at skeletal muscle, blood NAD+ more than doubled while muscle NAD+ did not move significantly. So β€œraises NAD+ in the blood” is a claim we will make; β€œrefills every cell in your body” is not.
  • Dollerup's 2018 trial ran 2,000Β mg a day for twelve weeks and came back null on every metabolic endpoint. Three separate cognition trials came back null on their primaries.
  • We do not claim the three ingredients amplify each other. A 2024 trial in Nature Communications tested exactly that pairing and found resveratrol added nothing to NR alone. Resveratrol and quercetin are here as antioxidant companions to the NR, and that is all we will say about them.

On safety: EFSA concluded in 2021 that 500Β mg a day of NR chloride is safe for adults. A dedicated safety trial found no moderate or severe adverse events at 3,000Β mg a day β€” six times our serving.

Celluvate supports healthy NAD+ levels, supports natural cellular energy production, and provides antioxidant support. It is not going to make anybody twenty-nine.

The real problem with a capsule: there's no number

A drip has theatre. A needle, a bag, a nurse, a receipt for $325. Whatever it does biologically, it feels like an event.

Two capsules with coffee feels like nothing. Which is exactly why most people quit at week six β€” not because it failed, but because there was nothing to read.

So take a reading. Below is a scorecard. Fill it in on dayΒ 0 before the first capsule, then again on dayΒ 30 and dayΒ 60. Five lines, one to ten each, fifty possible.

It is a self-report instrument β€” a structured record of how you rated your own week. It is not a lab test, it is not a biological-age reading, and it does not measure anything in your blood. Its entire value is that day-0 you can no longer be edited by day-60 you. That is worth more than it sounds.

TOTAL Β /50

Self-reported ratings only. Not a diagnostic tool and not a measure of biological age. Score it at the same time of day each round, and score dayΒ 0 before the first capsule β€” a baseline written afterwards is not a baseline.

A printed 60-day baseline scorecard on a desk with the day zero column filled in by hand.

One more instruction, and it is the one that matters most: after six weeks, stop for two β€” which keeps the whole test inside the 60-day guarantee window.

Almost nobody notices this category starting. A surprising number notice it stopping. If the two weeks off change nothing, you have your answer and the 60-day guarantee is still open.

How to take it, and who shouldn't

Two capsules in the morning with water and food. Morning rather than evening β€” a minority of people find NAD+ precursors stimulating and would rather that landed at 8am than 8pm. If it feels wired, one capsule for the first week is a reasonable place to start.

Contains fenugreek, declared as an allergen regardless of dose. Trans-resveratrol has antiplatelet activity and can interact with warfarin and with drugs metabolised by CYP3A4 and CYP2C9. Anyone on blood thinners, on hormone-sensitive-condition management, pregnant, nursing, or under a physician's care should talk to that physician before starting. Not for anyone under 18.
